Alvin “Pete” Brack Hines, 82, of Newport, formerly of Albemarle, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 12, 2025, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Read Obituary
Pete and I shared many good experiences as fellow deacons at Poter Baptist Church, working at Simpson Cemetery; and mowing lawns for fellow church members then being rewarded by Belmar Ingram with some of those famous fried apple pies, or enjoying a plate of fish at Rocky River Fish House. Brother Pete's sweet spirit and friendly smile were a blessing every time I had an opportunity to attend a revival at Grace Baptist. It was also a joy to do some shifts on the Shareathons with him. May God's grace comfort his family as only God can do!
