Alma Furr Harwood's Obituary
Alma Jane Furr Harwood, 90, of Albemarle, passed away Wednesday February 6, 2019 at her home. Her funeral service will be 2 Pm Friday February 8, 2019 in the Stanly Funeral & Cremation Care Chapel of Albemarle with Rev. Keith Walters officiating. Burial will follow in Stanly Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 12 until 1:30 Pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
Alma was born January 31, 1929 in Lee County, NC and was the
daughter of the late Tillman Lee Furr and Minnie Lee Greene. She was a graduate
of New London High School Class of 1947 and formerly worked with Springdale
Farm. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church and she loved fishing, gardening
and canning things she had grown.
Mrs. Harwood is preceded in death by her husband Clay
William Harwood on December 26, 1975. She is survived by a son Tony Harwood of
Albemarle, NC; three grandchildren Braden Harwood (Leslie), Dustin Terry
Harwood and Jessica Lynn Harwood and three great-grandchildren. Alma was also
preceded in death by a son Terry Clifton Harwood in 1998.
