Allie Darrell Cook's Obituary
Allie Darrell Cook, 76, of Seagrove, passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2023 at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro. Visitation will be held from 6-8PM on Tuesday, January 31, 2022 at Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care in Albemarle. His funeral service will be held at 2PM on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care in Albemarle officiated by Rev. Keith Menius and Rev. Frankie Hall. Burial will follow at Stanly Gardens of Memory.
Mr. Cook was born August 17, 1946 in Stanly County to the late Robert Vance Cook, Sr. and Zula Ann Burleson Cook. He was a loving, God-fearing Christian man who loved to read his bible. Some of his hobbies were gardening, hunting, fishing, and going to the beach. Darrell never met a stranger and he enjoyed speaking with others. He loved his family, his extended family, and the Tar Heels. Mr. Cook was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
Darrell is survived by his wife: Brenda Allred; daughters: Wendy Jo Cook of Albemarle, Tracie Cook Mabry (Chad) of Albemarle, Elizabeth Ellen Cook of Norwood; grandchildren: Charity Walters Creese (Joshua) of Albemarle, David Scott Walters of Albemarle, Whitney Mabry Tucker (Damon) of Albemarle, Cameren Stuart Mabry (Jenny) of Albemarle, Peighton Blalock of Albemarle, Sydney Faith Ellenburg of Norwood; bonus grandchildren: Savannah Sanders Early of High Falls, Dawson Sanders of Seagrove; great grandchildren: Jasper Orion Creese, Emery Jane Tucker, Berklee Rhett Tucker, Charlie Belle Mabry, Canton Stuart Mabry; brother: Mitchell Cook of Albemarle. He is also survived by many more grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Preceded in death by his first wife: Brenda Page Cook; granddaughter: Cassie Bren Walters; brothers: Robert Vance Cook, Jr., Horace Cook, Dolan Cook, Doyle Cook, Larry Cook, Dewell Cook; sisters: Ann Robertson, Estelle Smith.
