Alda Lucille Moore Stover's Obituary
Alda Lucille Moore Stover, 100, of Monroe, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 21, 2026.
She was born in Union County, NC on November 13, 1925, daughter to the late Daisy Tyson Moore and Roy Moore.
Alda was a dedicated and hardworking woman who spent her career as a lab technician at Spring Mills. She was a graduate of Jackson High School in Waxhaw, which is now the site of Furniture Factory Outlet World in Monroe.
She found great joy in working with her flowers and landscaping, and she was known as an excellent cook. Her vanilla pound cakes were especially loved—so much that people would often ask to buy them when she made them. Alda deeply loved her family and cherished every moment spent together. Growing up on a farm, she developed a nurturing spirit that carried throughout her life, always caring for others. With nine brothers and sisters, she especially enjoyed family reunions, where her love for togetherness truly shined. To Alda, family was everything.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harold Ray Stover, with whom she shared over 50 years of marriage.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Diane Stover Leyh of Murrells Inlet, SC, and Pam Stover of Monroe, NC and her brothers, Don Moore of Monroe, NC and Lofton Moore of New York City. She also leaves behind a host of extended family members and dear friends who will miss her greatly.
