Alan Richard Sarsfield's Obituary
Alan Richard Sarsfield, 60, of Albemarle, NC died Thursday, August 22, 2019 in Hartsville, SC. The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 28th from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care in Albemarle.? The funeral will be 2 Pm Thursday August 29th in the Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care Chapel in Albemarle officiation by Elder Carlos Horne.?? A burial will follow in the Stanly Gardens of Memory.
Alan was born on September 25th, 1958 in
Marlboro, MA to the late Leonard C. Sarsfield and Gloria Ann Boutwell
Sarsfield. He was a truck driver for Old
Castle Precast in Harrisburg, NC.
Alan started playing baseball at the young age of 9 and
continued through high school. He had an invitation to tryout for the
Cincinnati Reds but chose family life for his future but continued his love for
the sport by playing softball and coaching. Blessed with grandsons he was able
to share his love for baseball by coaching Michael, Luke & Isiah in the
sport. He also enjoyed ice hockey, golf & bowling which his bowling family
will continue to remember the phrase "1 in a row!" From family
cookouts, football Sunday's, trips to Old Orchard Beach, Maine and the family's
atlas, he was all about family. He was a dedicated career truck driver through
the years recently with Old Castle Precast. Married to his late loving wife of
Elaine for 34 years with his two step children which he raised as if they were
his own and he was an amazing father.
Alan was married to the late Elaine Annette Gorgoglione
Sarsfield who preceded him in death on February 5th, 2019. He is survived by son Paul Vincent Sarsfield
(Kristina) of Mt. Gilead, NC, daughter Sheila Marie St. Germain (Steven) of
Albemarle, NC, two brothers; Leonard C. Sarsfield of Hampton VA, and Rick J.
Sarsfield (Carol A.) of Harrisburg, NC, two sisters; Donna Sarsfield Colleton
of Greensboro, NC, and Terri Sarsfield of Holden, MA.
He leaves a legacy, seven grandchildren; Michael, Luke,
Isiah, Jordan, Melissa, Dylan, and Kevin, and two great- grandchildren;
Samantha and Ezra Jude, eight nieces, eleven nephews and many great nieces and
nephews.
Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care of Albemarle is serving
the Sarsfield family.
