AGNES COLEY BURLESON's Obituary
Agnes Geraldine Coley Burleson, 85, of Albemarle passed away Sunday morning, December 11, 2016 at Five Oaks Nursing Center in Concord. Her funeral service will be Tuesday, December 13, at 2 PM in the Stanly Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jay Weemhoff and Rev. Gary Pinion officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30 till 2 PM. The interment will take place following the service at Stanly Gardens of Memory.
Born August 3, 1931 in Stanly County, she was the daughter of the late Lewis ?Luke? Coley and Ruth Lisk Coley. Mrs. Burleson was a graduate of Badin High School and had retired from the Albemarle Christian Book Store. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Albemarle where she sang in the choir and served in the Women?s Missionary Union.
She was married to the late Joseph L. Burleson. Survivors include one son, Joey Burleson (Charity) of Concord, one brother, Billy Coley of Albemarle, two sisters, Eleanor Yow of Kannapolis and Barbara Talbert of Albemarle, six grandchildren, David, Sara, Breanna, Madilynn, Gracelyn, and Greenly Burleson, and 3 great-grandchildren. Agnes is preceded in death by two brothers, Doyce and Johnny Coley, two sisters, Dolly Coley and Patsy Bullock, and two half-sisters, Ollie Pinion and Jewell Vanhoy.
