Our world was turned upside down when we got the call that pop had passed away. Bret and I hadn't long been in CA to see our grandkids, his great grands. Without hesitation we packed them up and came back home ASAP!! We talked off and on of our memories of pop. There are so many. But one that sticks out most recently was a conversation I had with him before we set out to CA. I had a big fear of flying. I had never flown before in my life. I talked to him about it and he said "AH,there ain't nothing to it. You'll do just fine" Pop always had a way of telling you that things would be ok. And they would. Pop was one of the sweetest and nicest people you could ever have known. If you didnt like George, or junior as most people know him by, then there was something seriously wrong with you! He never met a stranger. He always had a smile on his face. He loved for family and friends to stop by and visit. He would always walk is out the door and wish us safe trip back home and always said " Ya,ll come back!!! Bye now!" He loved his family. Especially the grand kids and great grands and great great grands. He loved them all. He never missed a birthday. Him and mom(Pauline) always sent birthday cards to all is kids and grandkids. Pop was a man of faith. He believed in his faith and had a personal relationship with jesus christ and was unafraid. He was a well respected man. Everyone who knows him will agree to that. He never said a cross word about anyone. He was a man of his word. He was a honest man. I'm going to miss this man that many of us have come to know as pop. He was more than a father in law, he was dad. He was pop. He was my friend. I love ya pop!!! See ya soon!
