Lane Eugene Vanhoy

Lane Eugene Vanhoy, 86, of Richfield passed peacefully from this world into his eternal home surrounded by his loving family Monday, February 8th, 2021 at his home.  His body will lie in state on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care of Albemarle from 10 AM until 4 PM.  On Sunday he will lie in state from 1 PM until 2 PM at Mountain Creek Primitive Baptist Church. A private graveside service will be held on Sunday, February 14, 2021 at 3 PM in the church cemetery with Elders Brannan Hooven, E. W. Hooven, James Carelock, and Joe Helms. Born September 19, 1934 in Stanly County, NC he was the son of the late Charlie and Lillie Huneycutt Vanhoy.  He was an active member of Mountain Creek Primitive Baptist Church where he served as Deacon for more than 60 years.  He retired as a machinist with Knight Publishing Company. He was preceded in death by his first wife Betty H. Vanhoy in 2007.  He is survived by his second wife Annie Ruth Vanhoy of the home, four children: Ivey Sue Isenhour (Howard), Richie Vanhoy, Teresa Speights (Don), and Kelly Vanhoy all of Richfield, one sister: Jean Stroupe of Richfield, five brothers: Sherrill Vanhoy (Jane), Jerry Vanhoy (Mildred), Don Vanhoy, Lynn Vanhoy (Kelly), Reggie Vanhoy (Connie), two step children: Matilda McGhee (John) and Brian Reid, and step daughter-in-law Jennifer Enoch (Ken), eight grandchildren: Kim Helms (Brad), Kary Vinent (Dan), Will Isenhour (Brittany), Heidi Lewis, Justin Vanhoy, Beth Hopkins (Chad), Ben Speights (Casey), Whit Vanhoy (Amber) and seven step grandchildren: Zane McGhee (Alexis), Julie McGhee, Anna McGhee, Charlie McGhee, James Reid, Hannah Reid, Benjamin Reid, 18 great-grandchildren, and 1 step great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a brother Tom Vanhoy. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to, Mountain Creek Primitive Baptist Church, C/O Howard Isenhour, 44097 Ridenhour, Gold Hill, NC 28071.
