Janet Lynn Burris Connell, 60, of Salisbury passed away Monday, December 20, 2021. Her funeral service will be 1:00pm on Thursday at Stanly Funeral Home in Locust with Rev. Ronnie Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in the Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care of Locust from 6 until 8 PM on Wednesday. Born March 28, 1961 in Stanly County, NC she was the daughter of Roy Gaskin Burris (Shirley) and the late Bessie Mae Clontz Burris. She was member of Friendship Baptist Church in Stanfield and worked for many years as a CNA. She was preceded in death by her husband Billy Mac Connell. Survivors include daughter Crystal Lynn of Salisbury, brother Dale Burris (Sherri) of Mount Pleasant and sister Ann Holland (Jim) of Hickory, stepchildren Tanya Crisco (Rodney) of Albemarle, Dwayne Connell (Angie) of Roanoke, VA, grandchildren Cora Lynn and James and step grandchildren Kaitlyn, Conner, Emily, Katherine and Sarah, as well as 2 nieces, 1 nephew, 5 great-nieces and 3 great nephews. She is also survived by her cats Ginger and Mackey. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to, Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care of Locust, 501 N. Central Ave., Locust, NC 28097, to assist with the funeral expenses. Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care is taking care of the family.
