Mrs. Wilmetta "Granny Will" Snuggs Poplin, age 65, of Norwood, NC, passed away on Wednesday, January 18th, 2012 in Stanly Regional Medical Center in Albemarle, NC.  Her family will receive friends at Stanly Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 6 PM to 8 PM and her funeral will be at 2 PM on Friday, January 20th, 2012 in Stanly Funeral Home's Chapel.  Rev. Chris Wallace will officiate and burial will be in Porter Baptist Church's Cemetery in Norwood, NC. 

Born June 19th, 1946 in Stanly County, NC, Mrs. Poplin was the daughter of the late Will Snuggs and Mettie Cooper Snuggs.  She was a graduate of Wingate College.  She was also the Manager of BP in Norwood, NC, former Medical Records Technician, former Manager of Hardee's in Norwood, NC, and member of Porter Baptist Church.  She was a devoted grandmother to Joshy and Mary and caregiver to her husband, Gary.  She loved horses, dogs, and gardening.

She is survived by her husband, Gary Vance Poplin; one daughter, Joy Huneycutt and husband Jesse of Albemarle, NC; one sister, Ella Booth and husband Scott of Norwood, NC, and two grandchildren, Joshawa Huneycutt and MaryElizabeth Cooper Huneycutt.  Also surviving are nieces Miranda Poplin and husband Jeff and Baby Friend of Columbus, MS, Tiffany Laney and husband Terry and son Nathan of Charlotte, and Amy Cunning and husband Chris of Maryland.  She was preceded in death by one son, Wesley Lawrence Poplin.
