Virginia Clodfelter Troutman Moss, 85, of Clodfelter Road in Albemarle, passed away on Friday, July 10th, 2009 at Stanly Regional Medical Center. Her family will receive friends on Sunday, July 12th, from 6 PM to 8 PM at Stanly Funeral Home. Her funeral will be at 2 PM on Monday, July 13th, at Stony Hill United Methodist Church. Rev. Michael "Lanny" Lancaster will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.
Born May 2nd, 1924 in Stanly County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Floyd Preston Clodfelter and Pantha Coley Clodfelter. She was a retired employee of Albemarle Spinning Mills and a member of Stony Hill United Methodist Church where she was an active member of the Lucille Mullinix Sunday School Class. She was married first to Tom Luther Troutman and then to Grover Moss both of whom preceded her in death. Survivors include two sons, Tom L. "T.L." Troutman and wife Becky and Toby Moss and wife Lori all of Albemarle; two sisters, Edith Mills of Albemarle and R.V. Whitley of Mt. Pleasant; and three grandchildren, Preston Troutman, Matthew Troutman, and Morgan Moss.
Three brothers; Otis "Bus" Clodfelter, Lloyd "Peach" Clodfelter, and T.A. "Dink" Clodfelter; and two sisters; Laura C. "Laura Belle" Mills and Shelby C. "Bit" Hatley; preceded her in death.
