Virginia Stone Foglia, age 88, of 32582 Valley Drive in Albemarle, NC, passed away on Tuesday, June 8th, 2010 at her home.  Her funeral will be at 11 AM on Friday, June 11th, 2010 at Badin Baptist Church in Badin, NC.  Her family will receive friends at the church from 10 AM to 11 AM just prior to the hour of service.  Rev. Dan Abernathy will officiate and burial will be in Fairview Memorial Park.

Born May 28th, 1922 in Mecklenburg County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Wayland Hilliard and Nona McQuay Stone and was a former employee with The Stanly News & Press and Sherrills Custom Interiors.  She was a member of Badin Baptist Church and was an oils and pastels artist.  She was also a voracious reader, loved writing, loved bird, Japanese Gardening, and Japanese culture. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor "Buck" Foglia, Jr.; daughter, Nona N. Foglia; and brother, Wayland "Ikey" Stone.  She is survived by two sons: Victor M. Foglia, III of Charlotte, NC and Joseph A. Foglia of Badin, NC; and one sister: Carolyn Stone Roop of Wilmington, NC.
