Tonya Sivley Monk, 49, of 61 Club House Drive, New London, NC, passed away on Monday, January 4th, 2010 at Carolinas Medical Center-Main in Charlotte, NC. Her memorial service will be at 2 PM Saturday, January 9th, at Chandlers Grove United Methodist Church in New London, NC and her family will receive friends following the service at the church. Rev. Darrell Smith will officiate.

Born December 28th, 1960 in Gardena, California, Ms. Monk is survived by her parents, Dub and Patricia Conners Sivley of Badin Lake, NC; one son, Richard Edward Haney of Berien Springs, Michigan; one daughter, Sheena Hathcock and husband Jeffrey of Albemarle, NC; one sister: Sabrina Anderson and husband Gary of Raleigh, NC; three grandchildren: Taven Haney, Deacon Haney, and Jayden Hathcock; two nephews: Tyles and Austin Anderson of Raleigh, NC; and many more family members from Arkansas, South Carolina, and Texas.

She was a graduate of Saddle Back High School and was a CNA with NC Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem, NC.
