Sandra Annette Carpenter Allen, age 47, of 32741 B NC Hwy 740, Albemarle, NC, passed away on Tuesday, July 27th, 2010 at Carolinas Medical Center - Main in Charlotte, NC.   Her family will receive friends at Stanly Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 6 PM to 8 PM and her funeral will be at Anderston Grove Baptist Church in Albemarle, NC on Friday, July 30th, 2010 at 2 PM.  Rev. Ron Honeycutt will officiate and burial will bein Stanly Gardens of Memory in Albemarle, NC. 

Born April 19th, 1963 in Montrose, Colorado, Mrs. Allen was the daughter of Helen Morton Carpenter Williams of Albemarle, NC and the late Bennie Elisha Carpenter, Jr.   She was a graduate of Wingate University and a former photographer with The Stanly News & Press from 1986-2000.  She was a member of Anderson Grove Baptist Church and the Kirk Community Club.  She loved photography and puzzles.  She painted in her younger days and was very active in sports, especially softball.

She is survived by her husband, William Henry Allen; two brothers:  Larry Wayne Carpenter and wife Anita of Albemarle, NC and Tim Carpenter and wife Annette of Clemmons, NC; one sister, Kathy Carpenter of Albemarle, NC; four nephews; and two neices.
