Mrs. Ruth Christine Goodman Miller, age 76, of 955 US Hwy 52 North, New London, NC, passed away on Monday, January 30th, 2012 at her home.  Her family will receive friends at Stanly Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 6 PM to 8 PM and her funeral will be at 2 PM on Friday, February 3rd, 2012 at Prospect Baptist Church in Albemarle, NC.  Dr. Darrell Huneycutt and Rev. Stoney Benfield will officiate and burial will be in Prospect Baptist Church's Cemetery.

Born August 11th, 1935 in Stanly County, NC, Mrs. Miller was the daughter of the late Gus and Millie Redfern Goodman.  She was a graduate of New London High School and a retired employee of the Stanly County Tax Office.  She was a member of Prospect Baptist Church, a former Girl Scout Leader, and worked with Vacation Bible School.  She loved to travel with her husband and favorite companion "P.R.".  She was a wonderful Mom.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lowell E. Miller.  She is survived by two daughters, Tina Miller Hahn and husband Rick of Kings Mountain, NC and Toni Miller Buchanan and husband Danny of New London, NC; two brothers, William Goodman of Shiner, TX and Wayne Goodman of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; two grandchildren, Brandon Buchanan and wife Sue and Danille Mauldin and husband Matt; and one great-grandchild, Miller Mauldin.
