Ruby Whitley Hinson, age 82, of 317 West 9th Street, Oakboro, NC, passed away on Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010 at her home. Her family will receive friends at Stanly Funeral Home from 6 PM to 8 PM on Thursday evening and her funeral will be at 2 PM on Friday, February 5th, 2010 at First Baptist Church in Oakboro, NC. Dr. Terrell Watts will officiate and burial will be in Oakboro Cemetery.
Born May 30th, 1927 in Stanly County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Crowell P. and Nealie Huneycutt Whitley and was a graduate of Oakboro High School. She was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church in Oakboro, NC.
She is survived by her husband C.F. “Lum” Hinson; two sons: Douglas Hinson of Oakboro, NC and Terry F. Hinson of Jacksonville, NC; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Three sister: Edna Turner, Lucille Helms, and Helen Hatley preceded her in death.
