Ruby M. Drye, 85, of Albemarle, NC, passed away on Saturday, November 7th, 2009 at Carolina Medical Center in Charlotte, NC. Her family will receive friends at the Stanly Funeral Home on MOnday evening from 6 PM until 8 PM and her funeral will be on Tuesday, November 10th, at 2 PM in the Stanly Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Palestine Cemetery.

Born April 4th, 1924 in Stanly County, NC, Mrs. Drye was the daughter of the late Thomas Landy "T.L." McDuffie and Bessie Mae Teal McDuffie. She worked at many of the local Albemarle restaurants and retired from the Share Home of Albemarle. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She was a member of Canon Baptist Church. Survivors include three sons: Charles F. Drye of Albemarle, Donald K. Drye of Albemarle, and Gene Michael Drye of Albemarle; one brother: Thomas L. McDuffie, Jr. of Fayetteville, NC; two sisters: Nancy M. Eudy of Concord, NC and Sylvia M. Sides of Albemarle, NC; nine grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren. One sister, Ruth M. Poplin, proceeded her in death.
