Mrs. Ruby Cole Barbee, age 87, of 315 Park Ridge Road, Albemarle, NC, passed away on Sunday, August 7th, 2011 at Spring Arbor of Albemarle in Albemarle, NC.  Her graveside funeral will be at 10 AM on Wednesday, August 10th, 2011 in the Stanly Gardens of Memory in Albemarle, NC and friends may pay their respects from 12 PM until 8 PM on Tuesday, August 9th, 2011 at Stanly Funeral Home.  Rev. Harry Harwood will officiate.

Born November 3rd, 1923 in Stanly County, NC, Mrs. Barbee was the daughter of the late Millard Filmore and Flossie Richardson Hathcock.  She was a retired employee of American and Efird Mills and a member of East Albemarle Church of God.  In her later years she was a caregiver working with many of the elderly in the community.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rayvon Barbee, and one son, Thomas Ray Barbee.  She is survived by one son, Paul E. Barbee and wife Deanna of Albemarle, NC; two daughters, Deloris B. Cody and husband Dewayne of Richfield, NC and Doris B. Herlocker of Albemarle, NC; one sister, Blanche Hinson of New London, NC; seven grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
