Ruby Kerr Alexander, 81, of 920 North 10th Street, Albemarle, NC, passed away on Tuesday, January 5th, 2010 at Carolinas Medical Center-Mercy in Charlotte, NC.  Her family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6 PM to 8 PM and her funeral will be at 11 AM Friday, January 8th, 2010 at First Lutheran Church.  Rev. John Futterer will officiate and entombment will be in Stanly Gardens of Memory.

 

Born May 26th, 1928 in Cabarrus County, NC, Mrs. Alexander was the daughter of the late Samuel B. and Roxie Mae Hess Kerr and was a graduate of J.W. Cannon High School and Wingate College.  She was a former homemaker and former employee of Cabarrus Bank & Trust Co.  She was a member of First Lutheran Church and enjoyed needlework, crafts, and painting.

 

She is survived by her husband, Troy E. Alexander; two daughters: Vickie Alexander of Albemarle, NC and Marsha Smith and husband Jason of Albemarle, NC; two grandchildren: Kane Smith and wife Lauren of Belmont and Kelley Ebersole of Odgensburg, NY; and four great-grandchildren.  One brother, Thomas Kerr, preceded her in death.
