Mr. Clinton Rogell Rummage, 71, of 2415 Tanglewood Drive, Albemarle, went to meet his Lord on February 17, 2011 at 3:58 PM. He was born on August 2, 1939 to Flossie and Floyd Rummage of Albemarle.
He bravely served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War at Thailand and Okinawa. He retired from the Old North State Club as a Security Officer. He was a longstanding member and Deacon at Union Grove Baptist Church in Albemarle.
He was married to Jeannine Skinner Rummage for 44 years. He is survived by one son, Christopher Rummage and his wife Linda of W.V. He has two sisters, Brenda Howard and Sharon Huggins of Albemarle; three brothers, Gerald Rummage of Greensboro, Leon Rummage of Albemarle and Kenneth Rummage of Virginia, and many nieces and nephews.
Stanly Funeral Home will be in charge of the service. His graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 19 in the Union Grove Baptist Church cemetery. Reverends Lee Church and David Howard, Rogell’s nephew, will officiate the service. All family and friends are asked to attend. The family will receive friends at their home.
The family would like to thank all of the kind nurses and doctors at the VA Hospital in Durham, NC. He fought a difficult battle with cancer for over 6 years and now has his reward in Heaven. The family would appreciate donations being sent to Hospice of Stanly County.
