Mr. William Lewis "Rock" Hudson, age 82, of Albemarle, NC, passed away on Sunday, January 29th, 2012 at Stanly Regional Medical Center in Albemarle, NC.   His family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 PM to 8 PM at Stanly Funeral Home and his funeral will be on Wednesday, February 1st, at 2 PM at Poplin Grove Baptist Church in Albemarle, NC.  Rev. Richard Carlisle, Rev. Terry Burris, and Rev. Delaine Burris will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery with full military graveside rites conducted by the Stanly County DAV Ritual Team. 

Born Norvember 29th, 2029 in Campbell County, VA, Mr. Hudson was the son of Carrie Lorene Martin Hudson of Lynchburg, VA and the late James Smiley Hudson.  He was a retired employee of Stanly County and Fabco Fastners in Stanfield, NC.  He was a member of Poplin Grove Baptist Church, a Veteran of hte US Air Force serving during the Korean Conflict, member of Monroe Lodge #244 A.F.&A.M., Scottish Rite, and Oasis Shrine Temple in Charlotte, NC. 

Along with his mother, Mr. Hudson is survived by his wife, Ruby Marie Burris Hudson; three sons: Ronald Lee Hudson of Channelview, TX, David E. Hudson of Charlotte, NC, and Donald Lewis "Don" Hudson of Florida; two daughters, Judy Carolyn Fant of Houston, TX and Annita Darlene Helms of Charlotte, NC; one brother, Harold A. Hudson of Lynchburg, VA; two sisters, Doris L. Eures of Lynchburg, VA and Margie H. Maddox of Lynchburg, VA; twelve grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.  Along with his father, he was preceded in death by one sister, Hazel H. Williams.
