Robert Lee Shaver, 82, of 28993 A Sweet Home Church Road, Albemarle, NC, passed away on Tuesday, January 12th, 2010 at Stanly Manor Nursing Center in Albemarle, NC. His funeral will be at 2 PM Thursday, January 14th, 2010 in Stanly Funeral Home’s Chapel and burial will be in Stanly Gardens of Memory. Rev. Darrell Lee Thompson and Mr. Trent Thompson will officiate and his family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Thursday from 1 PM to 1:45 PM just prior to the hour of service.
Born December 2nd, 1927 in Stanly County, NC, Mr. Shaver was the son of the late Odis A. and Bessie Smith Shaver and was retired from Collins & Aikman Corp. He was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Burris Shaver; two sons: Jeffrey Lee Shaver of Albemarle, NC, and Ernest W. Shaver of Locust, NC; one stepson: Jerry Lynn Morris of Norwood, NC; three daughters: Tammy S. Thompson of Albemarle, Brenda S. Page of Albemarle, NC, and Patricia S. Helms of Albemarle, NC; one brother: Hubert Shaver of Clarkton, NC; two sisters: Ethel S. Dennis of Albemarle, NC and Katherine S. Roberts of Mt. Gilead, NC; twelve grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
