Robert Alexander Hollis, age 63, passed away on Thursday, November 11th, 2010 at Stanly Regional Medical Center in Albemarle, NC.  His family will receive friends at Stanly Funeral Home on Saturday evening from 6 PM to 8 PM and his funeral will be at 3 PM on Sunday, November 14th, 2010 at Prospect Baptist Church.  Rev. Stoney M. Benfield and Rev. Kenneth Myers will officiate and burial will be in Prospect Baptist Church's cemetery. 

Born December 17th, 1946 in Rowan County, NC, Mr. Hollis was the son of Mrs. Louise Shaver Hollis and the late Dr. Fred T. Hollis.  He was a graduate of North Stanly High School and Pfeiffer University.  He went on to receive his Masters Degree from UNC-Charlotte.  He was a teacher and Vocational Guidance Counselor at Albemarle High School and Northeast Rowan High School.  He was a member of Prospect Baptist Church.  He enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting, and loved his grandchildren. 

He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Morris Hollis; two sons, Maj. David Alexander Hollis of Monterey, CA and Michael Morris Hollis of Norwood, NC; one brother, Tom Hollis of Charlotte, NC; one sister, Jackie Stutts of Albemarle, NC; and six grandchildren.
