Robert Irenus Burris, age 75, of 1015 Ashe Street, Albemarle, NC, passed away on Sunday, May 16, 2010 at Stanly Regional Medical Center in Albemarle, NC. His family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6 Pm to 8 PM at Stanly Funeral Home and his funeral will be at 11 AM Tuesday May 18th, 2010 at Dunn's Grove Baptist Church. Rev. Eddie Burris, Rev. Wayne Austin, and Rev. David Nolan will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.
Born May 6th, 1935 in Stanly County, NC, Mr. Burris was the son of the late Shepherd Irenus Burris and Nora Belle Morton Burris and was a retired employee of Arrowood Store Fixture Company.
is survived by his wife, Eunice Kimrey Burris; two sons: Terry Burris and wife Earline of Oakboro, NJC and David Burris and wife Sandy of Conway, SC; one son-in-law: Tony Hall of Albemarle, NC; three sisters: Cannie Belle Hudson, Vernie Bailey, and Helen "Butchie" Hatley all of Albemarle, NC; nine grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. Carolyn Hall, his daughter, preceded him in death.
