Raymond Alexander "Dave" Lambert, 87, of Bunn Street Albemarle, NC, passed away on Friday, December 25th, 2009 at his daughter’s home. His family will receive friends from 6 pm to 8 pm Sunday evening at Stanly Funeral Home and the funeral will be at 2:00 pm on Monday, December 28th, 2009 in the Stanly Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Charles Spivey will officiate and burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
Born February 20th, 1922 in Stanly County, Mr. Lambert was the son of the late Wiley & Scrappy Lowder Lambert and was a retired employee of Cannon Textile Mills of Albemarle, NC. He was a member of Fairview Baptist Church and a veteran of the US Army World War II. He was also a carpenter and a former owner of a well drilling company.
He was married to the late Lottie Efird Lambert. He is survived by two daughters: Martha O'Neil & husband Mike of New London and Joyce Martin & husband Bobby of Albemarle; two sisters: Beulah Mabe & Roxie "Pete" Morton both of Albemarle; six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. A son; Gene Lambert; a brother, and six sisters preceded him in death.
