Mr. Ralph Winborne Myers, Sr., age 82, of 44328 Morrow Mountain Road, Albemarle, NC, passed away on Monday, January 17th, 2011 at Stanly Regional Medical Center in Albemarle, NC.  His funeral will be at 2 PM on Thursday, January 20th, 2011 at First Assembly Church in Albemarle, NC and his family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM just prior to the hour of service.  Rev. Bob Gruver will officiate.

Born January 4th, 1929 in Stanly County, NC, Mr. Myers was the son of the late William Maurice and Janet Mill Myers and was educated at Winston-Salem Barber College.  He was a Barber for 22 years and Part Owner of Sanitary Barber Shop and also retired from the Federal Pacific Electric Company.  He was a Veteran of the US Navy serving in WWII on the USS Kearsage Aircraft Carrier. 

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Blackwelder Myers; one son, Ralph Winborne "Winn" Myers and wife Jan of Richfield, NC; two daughters: Carol Offi and husband Bruce of Indian Land, SC and Trudy E. Myers-Peeler and husband Greg of Charlotte, NC; one brother, Allen Myers and wife Barbara of Maiden, NC; one sister, Diane Myers Hudson of Concord, NC; seven grandchildren: Son, Ryan, Josh, Joseph, Michael, Jason, and Seth; and eight great-grandchildren: Will, Zack, Madison, Kayla, Kassidy, Karly, Haley, and McKenzie.  He was preceded in death by one brother, Rev. Benny Thomas Myers, and two sisters, Frances Myers Burleson and Geraldine Lefler.
