Mr. Paul Phillip "Phil" Carter, age 56, of 533 College Street, Eden, NC, passed away at his home.  His funeral will be at 2 PM on Saturday, December 3rd, 2011 in Stanly Funeral Home's Chapel and his family will receive friends from 12 PM to 1:30 PM just prior to the hour of service.  Rev. Tim Swaringen will officiate and burial will be in New London Cemetery in New London, NC. 

Born October 29th, 1955 in Stanly County, NC, Mr. Carter was the son of Cleo May Newport Carter of Mooresville, NC, formerly of New London, NC, and the late James Paul Carter.  He was an employee with Miller Brewing Company in Eden, NC, with 31 years of service and enjoyed collecting antique furniture for his historic home in Eden. 

Along with his mother, he is survived by three brothers: Jim Carter of Athens, GA, Richard Carter and wife Jane of Mooresville, NC, and Chris Carter of Rock Hill, SC.
