Otis Howard Martin, 89, of Albemarle, NC, passed away on Monday, May 25th, 2009 at Stanly Regional Medical Center.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 27th, from 12:00 PM till 1:30 PM prior to the hour of the service in the Stanly Funeral Home Chapel.  Rev. Ross Tracy will officiate and burial will be in Union Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery where full military rites will be conducted by the Stanly County DAV.

Born April 13, 1920 in Tampa, FL, he was the son of the late Otious E. Martin and Dora E. Moose Martin.  He was a retired North Carolina Department of Correction Employee and a veteran of the US Army serving during WWII and the Eastern European Theatre.  He loved fishing, the outdoors, and gardening.

Mr. Martin was married to the late Sadie Elizabeth Lee Martin.  Survivors include one son, Tony H. Martin and wife Janet of Matthews, NC; and two grandchildren, Matthew H. Martin of Matthews, NC and David Chase Martin of Matthews, NC.  One son, Gerald Roger Martin preceded him in death.
