Nathan Sylvester Holt, 92, of 1606 Stoker Terrace, Albemarle, NC, passed away on Tuesday, August 18th, 2009 at Stanly Manor Nursing Center in Albemarle, NC. His family will receive friends at the Stanly Funeral Home Thursday evening from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and his funeral will be at 2:00 PM Friday, August 21st, 2009 in Stanly Funeral Home’s Chapel. Rev. Joe Smith will officiate and burial will be in Fairview Memorial Park.
Born March 18th, 1917, Mr. Holt was the son of the late Jason and Athie Furr Holt and a retired employee of Wiscassett Mills Company. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church and was married to the late Rachel McDowell Holt. He is survived by two sons: Nathan S. “Buddy” Holt, Jr. of Albemarle, NC and Randy H. Holt of Badin, NC; two brothers: Joe Frank Holt of Albemarle, NC and Melvin Holt of Albemarle, NC; six grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. Two sons: David Lynn and Larry Gerald Holt preceded him in death.
