Minnie Morton Whitley, 96, of 112 Quail Haven Drive, Easley, S.C., passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2009, at her home. Her funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, at Congregational Christian Church, Albemarle, where she was a member. The Rev. Donald Ray Johnson will officiate and burial will be in Fairview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Stanly Funeral Home on Saturday from noon until 1:30 p.m. prior to the hour of the service. 

Born Sept. 11, 1913, in Montgomery County, she was the daughter of the late Joe Turner and Sarah Dennis Morton and was a homemaker. She was married to the late John Quince Whitley. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Joe Raymond Whitley and Norris O'Neal Whitley. She is survived by seven grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
