Mrs. Mildred Lucille Hathcock Eddins, age 82, completed everything her Lord had for her to do in this life on Saturday, August 7th, 2010. She died surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM at Stanly Funeral Home in Albemarle, NC on Friday, August 13th, 2010. The family will receive visitors there from 6 PM to 8 PM on Thursday evening.
Mildred was born in Albemarle, February 10th, 1928 to Sam and Elmira Hathcock. She graduated from Albemarle High School and worked for a brief time at Wiscassett Mill Co as an inspector. After marrying Walter Lee Eddins of Norwood she spent the rest of her life as a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her father, mother, brothers Thurman and Dalton Hathcock and her husband.
She is survived by her sister, Madeline Melton of Albemarle; sons: Walter Gary Eddins and wife Sylvia of King, NC and Charles Eric Eddins and wife Cindy of Pleasant Garden, NC; grandchildren: Matthew Eddins (Duree) of Fredricksburg, VA, Bradley Eddins (Melinda) of Winston-Salem, NC, Sgt. Jason Eddins, USMC of Yuma, AZ, Emily Eddins of Winston-Salem, NC, Seth Eddins of King, NC, and Eric Eddins II of Pleasant Garden, NC; great-grandchildren: Hannah, Caleb, and Justin; numerous nieces, and nephews.
Mildred was a wonderful mother with a giving spirit and a smile for all. She loved gardening, playing golf, and little children. She will be greatly missed.
