Maye Edmunds Hange, age 93, of Albemarle, NC, passed away on May 7th, 2011 at Stanly Regional Medical Center in Albemarle, NC.  Her funeral will be at Friendship United Methodist Church at a later date.

Born August 16th, 1917 in Albany, GA, Mrs. Hange was the daughter of the late Maye Palin Edumunds and was a graduate of Greensboro Womens College.  She was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church and enjoyed being a basket-maker at the Senior Center and at Morrow Mountain's Old Fashioned Day.  She also delivered Meals on Wheels. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Warden Hange, and one son, Fred Hange.  She is survived by three sons: Edward Donald Hange of Minneapolis, MN, Richard Allan Hange of Albemarle, NC, and Donald Stephen Hange of San Antonio, TX; three grandchildren: Dr. Ingrid Hamel of St. Julie, Quebec, Canada, Naomi Prince Hange of Beckley, WV, and Suzanne Edmunds Hange of Beckley, WV; and four great-grandchildren.
