Mrs. Maxine R. Curlee, age 83, of 24825 Rogers Road, New London, NC, passed away on Sunday, January 15th, 2012 at her home.  Her funeral will be at 3 PM on Tuesday, January 17th, 2012 at Kendalls Baptist Church in New London, NC and her family will receive friends at the church  from 2 PM to 3 PM just prior to the hour of service.  Rev. Christian Herring will officiate.

Born March 4th, 1928 in Maryville, TN, Mrs. Curlee was the daughter of the late Robert Lincoln and Minnie Louise Sparks Roberson.  She waws a retired daycare worker with Kiddie Kare Daycare of Albemarle, NC and a member of Kendalls Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Roy L. Curlee; one daugher, Audrey Culee Marshall of Leland, NC; two brothers, Reid Roberson and wife Ann of Albemarle, NC and Sammie Roberson of Albemarle, NC; one sister, Marie Misenheimer and husband Billy of Richfield, NC; one grandchild, Megan Marshall Kroeker and husband John of Vancover, British Columbia; and one great-grandchild, Dylan Kroeker.  She was preceded in death by one son, Donald Roy Curlee, and son-in-law, Johnnie Marshall.
