Mary Frances Sides Thompson, age 69, of 435 Fairview Street, Albemarle, NC, passed away on Monday, December 6th, 2010 at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast in Concord, NC.  Her funeral will be at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, December 8th, 2010 in Stanly Funeral Home's Chapel and her family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM just prior to the hour of service.  Rev. Wayne Austin will officiate and entombment will be in the Stanly Gardens Mausoleum.

Born July 17, 1941 in Stanly County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Haywood and Mamie Basinger Sides and was a retired employee of Collins & Aikman Corp.  She was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by her husband, Charles Ray Thompson; one son, Arthur L. Morton of Albemarle, NC; three daughters: Lisa Hartsell of Albemarle, NC, Ann Baucom of Albemarle, NC, and Tammy S. Davis of Savannah, GA; one brother, Marshall "Pinky" Sides of New London, NC; one sister, Millie Barringer of Richfield, NC; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a Special Friend, Connie Almond of Albemarle, NC.
