Mr. Mark Kelly Chavis, age 48, of 1642 Amhurst Street, Albemarle, NC, passed away on Saturday, September 10th, 2011 at Stanly Regional Medical Center in Albemarle, NC.  His family will receive friends from 6 PM to 8 PM at Stanly Funeral Home on Tuesday evening and his funeral will be at 2 PM on Wednesday, September 14th, 2011 at Dunn's Grove Baptist Church.  Rev. Wayne Austin will officiate and burial will be in Centerview Baptist Church Cemetery. 

Born September 16th, 1962 in Stanly County, NC, Mr. Chavis was the son of Howard James Chavis and Cathy Culp Chavis of Albemarle, NC.  He was a truck-driver and member of Dunn's Grove Baptist Church.

He is survived by his parents; two sons, Johnny Shaver and wife Holly of Albemarle, NC and Brandon Chavis of Albemarle; three daughters: Kelly C. Hathcock and husband Bucky of Albemarle, NC, Brittany Chavis of Albemarle, NC, and Amber Chavis of Albemarle, NC; and three grandchildren: Hunter Hathcock, Arabella Shaver, and Landon Hathcock.
