Mrs. Marie Virginia Martin Ross Watson, age 94, of Gold Hill, NC, passed away on Monday, November 28th, 2011 in Stanly Manor Nursing Center in Albemarle, NC.  Her family will receive friends at Stanly Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 6 PM to 8 PM and her funeral will be at 3 PM on Wednesday, November 30th, 2011 at Richfield Baptist Church in Richfield, NC.  Rev. Harold McDonald and Rev. Tony Biles will officiate and burial will be in the Richfield Cemetery in Richfield, NC. 

Born March 11th, 1917 in Anson County, NC, Mrs. Watson was the daughter of the late Walter Grady and Ola Martin Ross.  She was a former employee of Carolina Maid in Granite Quarry, NC and Richfield Mfg. Company in Richfield, NC.  She was a member of Richfield Baptist Church where she attended every service as long as her health permitted.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Coy Lee Watson.  She is survived by two sons, Larry Watson and wife Frances C. of Gold Hill, NC and Ronnie Watson and wife Vicky G. of Gold Hill, NC; one daughter, Linda Wagoner of Gold Hill, NC; one sister, Pruette Gray of Mooresville, NC; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
