Margie Pauline Thompson Wilhoit, 84, of 420 Fairview Street, Albemarle, NC passed away on Friday, May 1st, 2009.  Her family will receive friends on Sunday, May 3rd, from 6 PM to 8 PM and her funeral will be at 3 PM on Monday May 4th in the Stanly Funeral Home Chapel.  Rev. Otis Goins and Rev. Stoney Benfield will officiate and burial will be in Fairview Memorial Park.
 
Born July 6, 1924 in Albemarle, NC, she was the daughter of the late James (Jim) Thompson and Addie Doby Thompson.  She was a homemaker, former employee of Wiscassett Mills, and member of Trinity Baptist Church.  She was married to Furman Ashley Wilhoit for 68 years.  Other survivors include two sons: David Wilhoit of Atlanta, GA and Gary Wilhoit and wife Debra of Mint Hill, NC;  two daughters: Claudette Wilhoit Walker and husband Max of New London and Robin Wilhoit Rose and husband Thomas of New London; six grandchildren: Nelson Walker, Joan Hahn, Susan Strawn, Amanda Lukach, Bruce Wilhoit, and Julie McGirr; eight great-grandchildren: William Walker, Stephanie Walker, Christopher Walker, Martha Hahn, Christy Hahn, Braxton Strawn, Garrett Strawn, and Rylee McGirr; and great-great-grandchild, Kayden Walker.   A son, Larry Wilhoit, and a sister, Frances Eudy, preceded her in death.
