Mrs. Margaret Rose Talbert, age 86, died peacefully at 9:26 AM, Sunday, October 16, 2011 at Rowan Regional Medical Center.  She was a resident at the Meadows of Rockwell, NC.  Her funeral will be a graveside service at Stanly Gardens of Memory, on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at 2 PM.  Rev. Mike Medaris will officiate the service. 

Mrs. Talbert was born on January 6, 1925 in Albemarle, NC.  She was the daughter of the late Virgil W. Wilhoit and Minnie Lou Haire.  After her mother’s death, she was raised by James and Bessie Craven of Mt. Gilead and considered them as parents.  A graduate of Mt. Gilead High School and Morgan’s Business College, she previously served as the assistant Clerk of Court of Stanly County.  She retired as the office manager of Ware Knitters of Albemarle.  Margaret married Richard C. Talbert on August 1, 1942.  They resided in Albemarle, NC until their retirement.  Together, they had one son, Richard “Dickie” Talbert, Jr. of North Myrtle Beach, SC, and one daughter, Sherry Corriher of Cornelius, NC.  She is survived by one sister, Hilda Talbert of Bennettsville, SC.  Her five grandchildren are Jennifer T. McRae and husband Mark of Albemarle; Marti C. Berry and husband Brent, and Kelley C. Krege and husband Dewayne, all from Banner Elk, NC;  Jay Corriher and wife Aimee of Charlotte, NC; and Angie C. Fleming and husband Jeff of Rockwell, NC.  She had 11 great-grandchildren.  Preceding her in death were sisters: Thelma Morton, Mary Nell Mauldin and Helen Talbert; a brother: James Russell Craven and a son-in-law: James A. Corriher.

Margaret and her husband moved from Albemarle, NC to Little River, SC in 1991, where they enjoyed their retirement together.  In 2000, they went to live in Salisbury, NC due to health issues.  She was blessed to have a special nephew and niece, Hoyle “Shotgun” and Helen Rae Talbert of Rockwell, NC who took very good care of her.

There will be a receiving of friends and family from 1:00 PM until 1:45 PM on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at Stanly Funeral Home, who is grateful to be serving the Talbert family.  Memorials may be made to the Susan G.
