Margaret Elkins Hatley, 78, of 29 Polo Fields N.E., Cartersville, GA passed away on Saturday, July 18th, 2009 at Cartersville Medical Center in Cartersville, GA. Her family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 22nd from 6 PM to 8 PM at Stanly Funeral Home and the funeral will be at 2 PM on Thursday, July 23rd at Stanly Funeral Home's Chapel. Rev. Johnny Gardner will officiate and burial will be in Fairview Memorial Park.
Born August 4th, 1930 in Lee County, GA, Mrs. Hatley was the daughter of Samuel and Alma Lowder Elkins, Sr. She was a retired employee of First Federal Bank in Ft. Lauderdale, FL and a member of First Baptist Church in Pompano Beach, FL. She was married to Jimmy Worth Hatley of Cartersville, GA. She is survived by two sons: David Hatley of Lyerly, GA and Philip Hatley of Rochester Hills, Michigan; one brother, Sam Elkins, Jr. of Mt. Gilead, NC; and two grandchildren. One brother, Bill Elkins, and one sister, Sara McLendon, preceded her in death.
