Mrs. Margaret Elizabeth Manous Hatley, age 94, of 633 North 3rd Street, Albemarle, NC, passed away on Thursday, August 12th, 2010 at Stanly Regional Medical Cener in Albemarle, NC.  Her graveside funeral service will be at 11 AM on Saturday, August 14th, 2010 at the Fairview Memorial Park in Albemarle, NC.  At other times, her children will receive friends at their respective homes on Friday evening from 6 PM to 8 PM.  Rev. Todd Galloway will officiate the funeral service.

Mrs. Hatley was born on June 2nd, 1916 in Stanly County, NC, to the late Thomas Martin and Lucy Ann Mills Manous.  She was a graduate of Albemarle High School and Mitchell School.  She was a homemaker and member of Centerview Baptist Church in Albemarle, NC.  She was a wonderful homemaker, loving wife, loving mother, and loving grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Ernest Franklin Hatley; one son, Donald Hatley; and two brothers, Sibley Burton Manous and Thomas Edward Manous.  She is survived by her son, Edward Ernest Hatley and wife Annette Whitley Hatley of Albemarle, NC; daughter, Diane Hatley Haris and husband Joe Frank Harris, Sr. of New London, NC; one grandchild, Kim Burris and husband Jeff of Albemarle, NC; and two great-grandchildren, Corey and Cavin Almond.
