Mrs. Lucille Yvonne Smith Calloway, age 77, of 128 Henning Drive, Albemarle, NC, passed away on Sunday, January 16th, 2011 at Forrest Oakes Healthcare Center.  Her funeral will be at 2 PM on Thursday, January 20th, 2011 in Stanly Funeral Home's Chapel and her family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:30 prior to the hour of service.  Rev. Joe Smith will officiate and burial will be in Stanly Gardens of Memory in Albemarle, NC.

Born February 15th, 1933 in Stanly County, NC, Mrs. Calloway was the daughter of the late Moses Ezekiel and Venie Louselma Treece Smith.  She was educated at Aquadale School and was Valedictorian of her class.  She was a former hair stylist in Albemarle; Augusta, Georgia; and Manhattan, Kansas.  She also worked in the Rowan County School System as a lunchroom worker.   She was a member of First Baptist Church of China Grove, NC and volunteered at the Habitat for Humanity Resale Store while her health permitted.

Mrs. Calloway is survived by her husband, Lewis Victorice "Red" Calloway; one son, Kevin Michael Calloway and wife Tracie of Laurel, MD; one daughter, Kelly Burgess of Albemarle, NC; four brothers: Elwood Smith, Ralph Smith, Dwight Smith, and Darrell Smith all of Albemarle, NC; three sisters: Edith "Betty" Holt of Albemarle, NC, Marlene Morton of Albemarle, NC; and Hazel Lowder of Pisgah Forest, NC; and six grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by three brothers: James Talley Smith, Dodson Smith, and Bobby Allen Smith.
