Louise Springer Whitley left this life peacefully at her home October 13, 2010. Born June 13, 1932 to the late Shelly Springer and Mary Gurley Springer, Mrs. Whitley was founder of Louise S. Whitley Realty. Known for being a wonderful cook, she devoted herself to her family, her friends and her community.

Mrs. Whitley is survived by her husband of 59 years, Billy Jay Whitley, her daughters; Karen (Kaye) Whitley of Richfield, Teresa Smith and husband Tony of New London and Elaine Richards and husband Sonny of Albemarle. Four grandchildren; Jennifer Richards of Moncks Corner, SC; Jeff Richards of Austin, TX; Anthony Smith of New London and Steven Smith of New London. She is also survived by two sisters; Betty Michael of Albemarle and Cecile Bowers of Charlotte. Other survivors include special nephew Larry Kendrick and family and special niece Mary Shaver. She was proceeded in death by three sisters; Mrs. Dorothy Shaver, Mrs. Lois Kendrick and Mrs. Gracie Spivey. Mrs. Whitley was blessed to have many wonderful nieces, nephews, and devoted friends.

Services for Louise Whitley will be Friday October 15, 2010 at 2:00 pm at Stanly Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Jesse Dennis will officiate. The family will receive friends Thursday October 14, 2010 from 6 to 8 at Stanly Funeral Home. At other times the family will be at her home 108 Gray Street, Albemarle.
