Lonnie A. Plowman, 66, of 105 Fall Street, Richfield, NC, passed away on Monday, January 4th, 2010, at Carolinas Medical Center-Main in Charlotte, NC. His funeral will be at 2 PM Thursday at Stanly Funeral Home's Chapel and his family will receive friends from 12:45 PM to 1:45 PM just prior to the hour of service at the Funeral Home. Rev. James Allen "Sonny" Rogers, Jr. will officiate and burial will be in Stanly Gardens of Memory.
Born April 2nd, 1943 in Stanly County, NC, Mr. Plowman was the son of the late Willis Smith and Nellie Morton Plowman and was a retired employee of Fruit of Loom. He was a member of Back To Bethel Baptist Church in Monroe, NC.
He is survived by his wife, Rachel Elaine Rogers Plowman; one son, Lonnie Michael Plowman of Wake Forest, NC; two daughters: Michelle Plowman Watkins of Salisbury, NC and Jennifer Plowman Parker of Salisbury, NC; two brothers: David Plowman of Mt. Gilead, NC and Joel Plowman of Salisbury, NC; one sister: Miriam Plowman Ferrell of Norwood, NC; and seven grandchildren. One brother, Bruce Plowman, and one sister, Merrietta Plowman, preceded him in death.
