Lillie Mae Saunders Eury, 92, formerly of 716 Salisbury Avenue, Albemarle, NC, passed away on Monday, June 8, 2009 at Stanly Regional Medical Center in Albemarle, NC.  Her funeral will be at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, June 10th at Albemarle Wesleyan Church.  Her family will receive friends from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM prior to the funeral service at Albemarle Wesleyan Church.  Rev. Doug Beadle and Rev. David Rollins will officiate and burial will be in Stanly Gardens of Memory.

Born May 12, 1917 in Montgomery County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Jonah and Fannie Reynolds Saunders.  She was educated in the Montgomery County Schools and was a homemaker.  She was a member of Albemarle Wesleyan Church.

She was married to the late Carl Edward "Sam" Eury.  She is survived by one brother, Franklin Saunders of Biscoe, NC, a number of nieces and nephews, a special niece Myra Whitley of Mt. Pleasant, NC, and a great-nephew Phil Surrett of Reidsville, NC.
