Lillian Arlene Heglar Hudson, 93, of Shallotte, NC, formerly of New London, NC, passed away on Friday, July 31st, 2009. Her funeral will be Monday, August 3rd, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Antioch Baptist Church in Richfield, NC. Her family will receive friends at the church from 9:30 AM until the hour of service. Rev. Gene Sides will officiate and burial will be in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery.
Born April 27th, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Dan A. and Alice Fraley Heglar. She was a textile worker for the John Boyette Sock Company and a lifetime member of the Antioch Baptist Church. She was married to the late Reece Craven Hudson. She is survived by one son, James Reece Hudson and wife Linda of New London, NC; one daughter, Peggy Jean Russell of Elizabethtown, NC; one sister, Ruth Lomax of Albemarle, NC; eleven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceeded in death by a daughter, Rachel H. Petrea.
