Joyce Ann Almond Morris, age 69 of 32568 Pennington Road, Albemarle, NC, passed away on Friday, March 19, 2010 at Stanly Regional Medical Center in Albemarle, NC. Her family will receive friends at Stanly Funeral Home on Sunday evening from 6 PM to 8 PM and her funeral will be at 11 AM in Stanly Funeral Home's Chapel. Rev. Tab Whitley and Rev. Bryan Burris will officiate and burial will be in Stanly Gardens of Memory.
Born November 15, 1940 in Stanly County, NC, Mrs. Morris was the daughter of the late Gurly Lee Almond and Verna Mae Smith Kendall Almond. She was a seamstress for Jenson Active Wear and a member of Canaan Baptist Church. She also was very active with the Lakeview Baptist Church Senior Group and Stanly County Senior Center. She played the piano and sang at Canaan Baptist Church, loved gardening and flowers, and enjoyed visiting family and friends. She was a true and faithful servant of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Calvin Lewis Morris. She is survived by her son: Phillip Morris and wife Dawn of Albemarle, NC; two sisters: Linda Page of Locust, NC and Doris Efird of Locust, NC; and three grandchildren: Kellie Morris, Ryan Morris, and Kaci Morris of Albemarle.
