Mrs. Johnsie Mae Talbert Cook, age 84, of 520 Rogers Street, Albemarle, NC, passed away on Sunday, January 15th, 2012 at her home.  Her family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6 PM to 8 PM at Stanly Funeral Home and her funeral will be at 1 PM on Wednesday, January 18th, 2012 in Stanly Funeral Home's Chapel.  Rev. Ron Honeycutt and Rev. Billy Honeycutt will officiate and burial will be in Fairview Memorial Park. 

Born January 5th, 1928 in Iredell County, NC, Mrs. Cook was the daughter of the late William Roy and Flora Lee Thompson Talbert.  She was a homemaker and member of West Albemarle Baptist Church.  She collected salt and pepper shakers and loved making crafts.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Clabern Cook, and two brothers, William Kenneth Talbert and Victor Lewis Talbert.  She is survived by four sons:  Palmer William Cook of Granite Quarry, NC, Roy Wesley Cook and wife Linda, of Salisbury, NC, Robert Thomas Cook and wife Carolyn of Norwood, NC, and John Garry Cook and wife Marie of Kannapolis, NC; one daughter, Patricia Ann Fraley and husband Michael of Albemarle, NC; nineteen grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.
