John Darrell White, age 84, passed away on Monday, February 7th, 2011 in Randolph Hospital in Asheboro, NC.  His family will receive friends at Stanly Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 6 PM to 8 PM and his funeral will be at 1:00 PM on Thursday, February 10th, 2011 in Stanly Funeral Home's Chapel.  Rev. Reece English will officiate and burial will be in Fairview Memorial Park.

Born May 17th, 1926 in Stanly County, NC, Mr. White was the son of the late Wallace and Fannie Griffin White and was a retired employee of Wiscassett Mills Co. with 52 years of service.  He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church where he was active while his health permitted and also a member of Gideons International. 

He is survived by his wife, Lillie Frances Eudy White; two daughters, Sylvia White Efird of Albemarle, NC and Fonda White Evans and husband Jimmy of Mayodan, NC; four grandchildren: Brent Coley, Summer Evans, Patrick Efird, and Leah Efird; and five great-grandchildren.
