Jimmy Worth Hatley, 80, of 29 Polo Fields N.E., Cartersville, GA passed away on Wednesday, July 22nd, 2009 at Cartersville Medical Center in Cartersville, GA. The family will receive friends at the Stanly Funeral Home on Monday evening from 6 PM to 8 PM and the Graveside Service will be at 2 PM Tuesday, July 28th, at the Fairview Memorial Park. Rev. Johnny Gardner will officiate.

Born January 25th, 1929 in Stanly County, NC, Mr. Hatley was the son of the late Hal Worth and Ada Williams Hatley and a Graduate of Duke University. He was a retired English Teacher at Ft. Lauderdale High School in Ft. Lauderdale, FL and a member of First Baptist Church in Pompano Beach, FL. He was married to the late Margaret Elkins Hatley. Survivors include two sons, David Hatley of Lyerly, GA and Phillip Hatley of Rochester, Michigan, and two grandchildren.
