Jewell Coble Talbert, 83, of 1736 Holly Avenue, Albemarle, NC, passed away on Monday, June 1st, 2009 at Britthaven of Piedmont Nursing Center in Albemarle.  Her family will receive friends at the Stanly Funeral Home on Thursday, June 4th, from 6 PM to 8 PM and her funeral will be on Friday, June 5th, 2009 at 11 AM at West Albemarle Baptist Church.  Rev. Adam Hatley and Rev. Nathan Fox will officiate and burial will be in Stanly Gardens of Memory.

Born February 11, 1926, she was the daughter of the late James Bert and Verlia Gilbert Coble.  She was a retired employee of Fagan's Book Store and a member of West Albemarle Baptist Church where she was a choir member, Sunday School Teacher, and leader of the G.A.'s (Girls In Action).  She was also a member of the Hospital Pink Ladies. 

She was married to Raymond Talbert of the home.  She is also survived by two daughters; Sheri English and husband Bret of Camdenton, MO and Joan Collins and husband Tim of Daphne, AL; one brother, James Vance Coble of Albemarle, NC; one half-sister, Joyce Fowler of New London, NC; three grandchildren, Andrea McCormack of Greensboro, NC., Jon English of Sanford, NC, and Lee Rummage of Mauldin, SC; and five great-grandsons.
